Here is a wrist guard (sold in sets) I found in a safety supply store in Portland Oregon back in the late 90's. These are made for the Paper industry to protect the wrists and forearms against industrial sized papercuts....meaning deep and nasty. Thick leather with velcro enclosure, second layer of leather has metal heavy duty metal staples that prevent cut through.
These are great protection for advanced live blade training. It allows you to [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]develop the students blade awareness and to get them to develop the mental component of confronting real steal, while offering some vital proctection.
What improvised goodies have you incorporated into your training?
