How important is POWER in your FMA?

Stick shattering, hand-numbing, knock-out type blows. I mean, even in non-telegraphic, short range, lead-hand shots. Unfortunately, I'm not all that gifted at power generation, although the training has helped. And, for those of you who are focused on blade-arts, some of this might seem irrelevant. But, my question is, how important is power generation in your style of FMA?
