But they do practice, no? In high school I'd spend 5 hours a day at the dojo, but we were allowed to practice for free when space was available, or in the back. One could always find the space to practice, so it seemed prudent to do so.

I suppose I'm a bit of a dojo rat but compared to some I ain't got some. I used to come only on Fri and Sat and come half an hour before and stay an hour after practicing with my buddies. Now I do the same but I go four days a week.

I think the term dojo rat can be used as an insult or in a self-depreciating manner. It all depends on how you take it.
