Fighters prepare in different ways the night before they go to battle. WEC lightweight fighter Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has been doing this for a while and doesn't lack for confidence. He certainly didn't before his fight against Ed Ratcliff. Cerrone didn't spend Friday night holed up in The Palms getting 14 hours of sleep.

According to Combatlifestyle.com, Cerrone, 26, a veteran of 14 fights, spent late night Friday hanging out at Las Vegas' Green Valley Ranch watching MMA fighters' favorite comedy-hair band Steel Panther. He even rocked out at 11 p.m. show and removed his shirt:

Every fighter does something different after the weigh ins. A number of us headed over to Texas De Brazil to break the fast while Cowboy took off to an autograph signing with tapout. When he was done with that, we all got ready and headed to Green Valley Ranch to see Steel Panther perform. He even got on stage to perform Sweet Child of Mine by GNR with the band. Afterwards it was over to the Drop Bar to say hello to the band members and then back to the Palms to bed for Cowboy!

There were no ill effects on Saturday as Cerrone submitted Ratcliff. Is this the kind of thing that's keeping Cerrone from winning the WEC lightweight title or was Ratcliff (7-2) not a worthy opponent?

Josh Kosheck and Chuck Liddell have taken in Steel Panther shows in Southern California. In Koscheck's case, it was a day after his win at UFC 106.
