Hey I am currently training in kickboxing but have considered to practise my striking skills on offdays from kickboxing. I*ve considered karate after watching some k1 and kyokushin. In these tournaments their punches looks a lot like boxings( fist starting from the shoulder and then being thrust forward) but when i look at kata alle the strikes starts with the hand at the hip. I's there a diffence between competetion punches and training punches
