demo swords

hello, one of my students just wants a demo sword to use for tournaments now i found this one

anyone ever use it if so how is it?
he order one from awma and for 99.00 and it was junk fell apart after a few uses

He can have one made to order. He shouldn't use anything with multiple parts for less than several hundred dollars as they are cheap wall hanger crap. And since this is most likely going to be used for some tournament where there will be a mis-representation of how these weapons are used (because according to what is constantly shown to the public... the knighthood of Japan were cheerleaders...), I wouldn't allow anything less than the real thing. In Rhode Island several years ago, there was an incident where a spectator was injured because one of these crap weapons fell apart and flew into the crowd.

Accidents like that are usually the price of ignorance and negligence.
