Cool photo piece on Dogs in the Military

Brilliant!

We recently had a dog handler killed in Afghan, his dog was unhurt but died shortly afterwards. The dog's body was cremated in Afghan and the ashes brought back on the repat plane with his handler so that the his family could be given them. Soldiers have a huge respect for the working dogs whether they are sniffer or guard dogs.

Many soldiers in Afghan have also been adopting strays and getting them rehomed over here when the unit has finished their tours, the presence of a dog even just as a pet is a great stress reliever for many in such tense conditions.
