My wife and I just hit ten years (we married at twenty years old) and I love being married.
Eight years is a big deal in today's world, but then three years is a big deal anymore. I don't believe that any generation past the baby boomers consider marriage a lifelong relationship. Actually, I feel the start of that general trend started with the baby boomers. If it gets hard, just quit--or that seems to be the way people are about being married.
