coat hanger for Karate GI

opr1945

Black Belt
I accidently came across this while following a post recommended link for something else.

I have just been using a common coat hanger (USA) for hanging my GI between uses.

This is my Gi hanging on wall. Arms hang down unlike above hanger for Kimono.

It would appear to me that with the Valet stand the impact of gravity on the shoulder/sleeves Is basically the same as my coat hanger. Unlike the expandable Kimono Hanger where the sleeves are Horizontal rather than the coat hanger where the sleeves are vertical.

Not to mention, about a billion time more expensive.

Only the best of rest for the Dogi. It has soaked up your sweat, blood and perhaps a few tears, and held you up during potential fears

I use those hangers all the time especially after washing my dōgi; they dry much more quickly and keep the clothingā€™s shape much better, obviating the need to iron.

Yamato Bogu (where that image is from) donā€™t seem to be trading anymore, but you can get them Tozando although theirs donā€™t fold up for travelling purposes. I have several of both types and theyā€™re pretty good for shirts etc too.

One could also thread oneā€™s Bo(staff) through the jacket arms and mount the Boā€™s ends up on equal height, jacket arms comes further away(90degees) from rest of jacket making a quicker hang dry

I found several on E-bay, of course. Shipping can be more than the hanger itself. So be careful and check total cost not just cost of hanger itself.

Advertised as lessening need for ironing. Wife will like that. "Yes, dear, I bought this to lesson your work load (Chauvinist that I am)."

Thanks.

I add these sorts of small items to larger orders to attenuate these costs.

ā€¦and tell her you added it to a larger order thus youā€™ve saved her moneyā€¦ Then say, ā€Youā€™re welcome.ā€ šŸ˜‰
