China and South America

I was reading a monograph the other day about China moving in to fill the void left by the US's withdrawal from Argentina's telecommunications and space industries. I was wondering what people thought about this.

Could it be the beginning of the long prophesied, but never eventuating, Chinese world domination?

At the end of the Cold War the US had a chance to go with peace, prosperity, progress and making a livable future. Instead we went for fear, bankruptcy, looting of the nation's wealth for the benefit of the few, war crimes, cowardly abandonment of our heritage of liberty and no-longer-crypto fascism. If we're that stupid, cowardly, and venal we will deserve what happens to us.

China is definitely looming....but will they be foe or friend on the world stage as their power increases? Only time will tell- although the actions of our current governments will undoubtedly play a role!!!
