Brandon's letter to Black Belt

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I will be working on a article along similar lines and submitting it soon to Black Belt also hopefully it will make it in. If not no big deal, I guess. But I appreciate the recognition from everyone here. Its very much appreciated.

That really is wonderful that you got something published in Black Belt, Brandon!

Brandon, that's great news—it's good to keep the momentum going in this direction. Who knows? Eventually, maybe, if enough such articles get published, we won't hear so much complaining about having to learn `boring old kata' (or hyungs. poomsae, tuls, etc.)

Please let us know how they respond. If it doesn't get in, you shouldn't let it drop. Try TKD Times or any of the specialist magazines devoted to the karate-based arts. There are very good British MA publications as well, and they are probably a bit more sophisticated about this topic than many North American publications (the whole realistic bunkai movement seems to have been initiated by British karateka, or at least, many of the leaders in the movement are UK MAists). I'm sure it will find a home in a good publication.
