Could it really be true? Will they really not mess it up? Enquiring minds want to know!

The sets and so on were as wobbly and terrible as Prisoner Cell Block H (a guilty pleasure from my past that one ) but it was glorious fun. Avon in particular was a wonderful character that you were always rooting to find that spark of good in himself you knew was there.

Vila too, you always wanted him to find the courage within (and in one episode he does {Yay!} but the woman he saves then dies {Boo!}):

Of course, as a young fellow, Glynis Barber was a certain factor in the series' attraction :D

The awesome opening credits of the first season:

As with so much TV that we remember from our youth, it is the rousing music that hooks you. I've told before how, even now (well, about ten years ago I suppose) as a well grown man, I would rush home from work and zoom into the house to put the TV on to make sure that I didn't miss the opening credits to re-runs of Thunderbirds :D.

I've come across a number of interviews through the years with Paul Darrow (Avon). Very interesting to hear his insights into both his character and the series.

I don't think I ever heard of that on before.
But gosh, those vintage FX are so...vintage! :)

I sometimes wish I could go back in time and view those shows again with th same awe as I did back then. Totally unspoiled.(like the original Tron :))

I used to love that show , when did it first air in Britain ?
Because I remember I was still in high school when it was on down here.
I used to like the lady with the short hair , I think she was a bit evil if I remember correctly.
I think it used to be on after the Goodies , Dr Who , Kenny Everett , they were all on the same channel.

It was 1978 that Blake's 7 first was aired, Mook. The lusciously 'arch' lady you remember would be Servalan I reckon:

Yeah that's her.
Just then I did a google image search of her.
What an absolute stunningly good looking woman.

I'm really surprised, Arni - it is a bit of 'back-burner' sci-fi classic so maybe it never got shown in the States?

I'll check Netflix! Sci-fi is my thing. It can hold me over on British TV until Doc Martin starts up again.
