Do you ever think that maybe Batman feels out of place in the Justice League?

His character does seem to conflict with the others.

Batman = Dark
Superman = Light
WonderWoman = Light
GL = grey
HawkGirl = grey
Jon = grey

Also the fact that he has no super-powers like the others. Can't fly, can't shoot lazer beams, etc.
But his excellent physical condition, various martial arts skills, intuitive mind and all "those wonderful toys" does bring him up a bit.

DC comic characters don't really WOW me too much as Marvel ones did... but... that's just me. :idunno:

They could have an issue where Green Lantern trades with Batman.

I could see where Batman might think himself a bigger person cause he can hang with these guys. But he is a humble Martial Artist. But if he thinks he is just one of the super hero guys, he must think that he is better then mere mortals. Wouldn't that conflict with his bushido training?

Haven't you guys READ Batman? He much prefers to work alone and has identity conflicts all the time with the whole "superhero" image thingy.

He is compelled to fight evil and yet bears this burden with humility yet fervor.

Ok, I know I'm going to sound like a bigger goof than I already am but the Justice League Unlimited is sooo cool. I'm glad they brought back some other characters for the show. There are some inconsistencies with the show but it's cool. As far as Batman he is cool. He's a loner and fights evil pretty much bare handed. Except for a few of his cool gadgets.

Ah but batman is better than all of them. Superman can be beaten with a chunk of rock. Green Lantern only has his ring. Hawk girl has wings an a mace. Jon and wonder woman eh he'd find a way.

Green Latern weakness is the color yellow, how hard can that be?

Sure that's why Sinistro(sp?_it's been a long time) always was shooting yellow beams around.

Now You must stand before the Guardians of Oa

Jon's weakness is fire and WW can't handle being tied with her own lasso (ever the sadist, never the masochist).

Batman has always been DCs favorite, mostly because he has the fans, the sales, and basically built the anti-hero principle into pop and comic culture. He consistantly beats DC's biggest gun.

See, I knew there was a use for yellow belts.

I remember that the big yellow bat on his chest is a baited target. He carries extra kevlar under it. He figures if they are going to take a shot, give them the target.

Generally, Bats is pretty dark, but sometimes he is the contention of light. If you guys are reading the Identity Crisis stuff, you'll notice he is the one resisting doing the darkest thing.

Batman is in the Justice League so he can keep an eye on them. He doesn't trust them (or anyone) and figures he's the only one who can keep them from blundering around like super-powered idiot children. And, he can be there to pull the plug in case one of them goes bad. Like Martian Manhunter, for instance :) .
