The University of Kentucky library contains a volume called Bare-knuckle Breed . I cannot remember the name of the author, sorry. It is a great book about some of the great bare knuckle fighters of old. Unfortunately, it has been out of print for a loooong time. In my nine years of working for UK, I was the only one that checked that book out....and I did so 11 times! Do you think the library would sell the thing to me?!? NO. They don't sell any of their books. Even if there is no interest in them. If any of you see this book anywhere, buy it. If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you.

For those of you who are interested in bareknuckle stuff you could try www.royprettyboyshaw.com/. This man was the 'Guvnor'. Or you could try getting the book called 'King of the Gypsies' about Bartley Gorman, an undefeated bareknuckle fighter who only passed away recently.
