Any Good Leadership or Human Interest Stories?

Don't cry...there are many lessons to be learned in these stories.

-See things through the eyes and heart of a child

-You control your destiny by your attitude

and so much more.

More, please.

Open your eyes, and your hearts...you'll see the true martial ideas. :)

The Lion, Donkey and Hay....

You are traveling with three items: a lion, a donkey,
and a bail of hay. You come to a river that needs to
be crossed. At the edge of the river is a boat; how-
ever, the size of the boat and the speed of the river
are such that only one item can be carried across at
a time. You need to get all of the items across in tact.
The problem, of course, is that the lion wants to eat
the donkey and the donkey wants to eat the hay. If
you are not present, the beasts will indulge their des-
ires. Thus, you must ferry them is such a way as to
keep them separate (on both sides of the river). In
what order do you ferry the items?

These "brain teasers"..... can be fun and also frustrating! The lesson however, is to "think" and use logic.... a KENPO fundamental necessity........... have fun.... :asian:

Answer:

First take the donkey across, leaving the lion
and hay. Then take the lion across, leaving the
hay. Drop the lion off on the far side, and bring
the donkey back with you. Take the hay across
next. Then come back for the Donkey.

The Donkey, Farmer and Well
(Thank you Ricardo)

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be
covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He
invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a
shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads
later,
the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he
saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing
something amazing. Hewould shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's
neighbors
continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off
and
take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped
up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells
just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less

NOW -------- Enough of that . . . The donkey later came back and
bit the hell out of the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from
the bite got infected, and the farmer eventually died in agony from
septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong and try to cover your ***, it always comes
back to bite you.

Another example.................

"The Gold Box of ......"

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Never the less, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.

He yelled at her, "Don't you know when you give someone a present, you should put something in it?" The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty, I blew kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later and it is told that the man kept that gold box by his bed for many years and whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us as humans, have been given a gold container filled with untold treasures, unconditional love and kisses from our children, friends, family, instructors and God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

Thats a beautiful story!! so sad about the little girl!
