My mother, due to a long term disease (RTA) has total kidney failure. Well, she was put on the list for a transplant, but even with insurance they needed to raise a large sum of money. One afternoon, early this week, a member of their church summoned the pastor and brought a check for $10,000, thus putting them over the top. He wanted to be anonymous. I don't know who he is and as I live in a different state, I'm not likely to have ever met him, but I am grateful. Just thought I'd share. The church has taken a lot of hits in recent years, some from me, but this goes to show that many, if not most, make a determined effort to practice what they preach.

God work in strange way, we as a whole must never loose faith. I for one, is glad for you and your family. Churches will always take there beat upon society, but in time of trouble they always seem to come to people aid.
My God Bless you and your family.

:)

I am so happy for you and your family Jonathan. You have truly warmed my heart this morning. Good luck to you Mom and God Bless all the donors that made this possible.

I am very happy to hear of your good news, Jonathan. I wish you and your mother all the best.

Despite all the world often shows us, I truly believe that people are good at heart. Whether religiously motivated or not, I am pleased to see that someone could look beyond themselves and give your family such a gracious gift.

Thank you very much for sharing.

So glad for this wonderful gift to your mother Jonathan. The church does take alot of hits. We have to remember the church is made up of imperfect people who, though they try, don't always do the right thing. But in this case I'm glad your family was able to be on the receiving end of God's love through the church. Thanks for sharing. *hugs*

Johnathan, this is one of my meanings to my thread about fighting for the ideal. This gift was made from love and it will give one person a new chance at life and your family more time to treasure your mother. These ties that bind are the ones worth fighting for and living every moment for.

Interesting how God steps in, eh? Bless you and yours and may everything go smoothly and without complication. Do keep us posted.

It's wonderful to see compassion and grace rise in this manner. Best of fortune to your mother and you.

What a beautiful gesture! :) Best Wishes to you, your family & to the anonymous donor. Please keep us updated on the situation.

At least it's good to know there is still some redeeming qualities left in humankind out there.

Thanks all. One should become available very soon as she's on the top of the list now. I'll post when there are further developments. Again, thanks all for the well wishes and kind thoughts.

A cousing of mine just had a successful transplant this summer. She was only on the top of the list for a few weeks and a donor was found. I hope all goes well for your mom, jonathan. Please keep us informed as to her progress.

She had her transplant this week and it was successful (so far). Unfortunately, my father had a major heart attack (most likely due to the stress of my mother's illness) two weeks ago - he will probably be ok in the long term, though. I can't believe it. Two and a half years ago we were told that she would not live to Christmas 2003. Thanks all for the thoughts and prayers.

JR, do take good care of yourself. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just try to hang in there and face each hurdle as they come. That's all you can do. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

JR,

I was able to get together with my cousin over the xmas holidays. She is back to her beautiful, vibrant, energetic self. It was so nice to see. She says she hasn't felt this good in years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jonathon, That's wonderful news ~!! :D
My son'nlaw came down with an auto immune disease that destroyed both of his kidneys. He lucked out with his brother being a match and they are both doing very well now.

Will keep your Mom in my thoughts.
