An election map by color.

Interesting to see a map of voter turnout across the US. Nice post.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the link, I had seen it earlier, only not quite so detailed.

The county map is very interesting too:

A lot of "blue" states are actually quite red, except for their major cities which contian more people who use public services.

Can't have 'public services' that are actually used by the public, can we?

Fortuneately, all those red states, which consist primarily of public lands get to be used by cattle farmers to graze their heards at little cost ... but that ain't a public service, is it?

Oh, and let's not forget give logging companies permission to build roads on those public lands so they can cut down all the old growth forest, which makes the most money for them. All in the name of 'Healthy Forests'.

so are we trying to replace hearts and minds with acreage?
would the oceans remain blue? this is silly...

I forgot the cattle herding map, but I tend to think it is smaller than you speculate.

What is bigger thanyou speculate is the "a-buse" of these inner city services. But we know who does it and which way they vote.

We also have figures on how misinformed the majority of people who vote "red" are on facts and recent history; however, both of these items are off topic for this thread.

Hi,

I doubt if the abusers are voting.

Hi,

What should we talk about, the maps?

I don't know how big 257,000,000 acres would look on a map of the continental United States, but it sure sounds like a big number to me. Of course, the ranchers who get to use that 257 million acres at an extremely low cost (a government subsidy? - rancher welfare?) probably won't like the idea.

Just to reiterate ... that is 25,000 ranchers who get to graze their herds on 257 million acres of public land at a very low cost. Which way do you think those ranchers voted, red or blue?

Here we go again...

LOL..Talk about a party that has sealed its own fate...
We know that nearly 75% of those who vote Red believe that Hussein was behind 9/11, supported Al-Qaeda, etc.

If insistence on facts, history, and education "seals my party's fate", then I guess I'm doomed never to "be in power".

From what source do we "know" that from?

From a poll conducted by the Program on International Policy Attitudes:

http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Pres_Election_04/Report10_21_04.pdf

This poll has also been referred to before on The Study:

http://www.martialtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=300225&highlight=pipa#post300225

http://www.martialtalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=301506&postcount=37

I recalled the numbers incorrectly, though:

72% of Bush supporters thought Iraq had WMD or a major program for them right before the war, as opposed to 26% of Kerry supporters.

Even though the US WMD inspector discovered no such WMD's or major program for them, immediately after his report, 57% of Bush supporters believed the inspector HAD discovered them, as opposed to 23% of Kerry supporters.

75% of Bush supporters thought Hussein either participated in 9/11 or substantially supported Al-Qaeda; only 30% of Kerry supporters believed these items.

Similarly, 56% of Bush supporters thought the 9/11 Commission stated the same things; only 27% of Kerry supporters did.

The poll also showed vast disparities in how Bush and Kerry supporters understood the perception of American foreign policy by other nations, and, most depressingly for Bush voters, how well Bush and Kerry supporters understood their own candidates' positions.
