An American's guide to speaking British

Lager is more often than not sold in bottle and cans so it's easy to drink anywhere. Drinking from bottles annoys me but all the 'alcopops' and most lagers are drunk straight from the bottle, both sexes do this. I ordered a Stella a while back in a pub and was given a bottle, I looked at the barman and he hastily got me a glass lol.

It is advice now for young ladies to drink their booze from the bottle to make it harder for people to slip date rape drugs in. Additionally my girlfriend prefers to drink from the bottle because it keeps the beer fizzier! So I think it is getting far more common that you have to specifically ask for a glass if you want one and given the date rape thing I personally don't think it is a bad trend.

I personally don't suffer from either problem because nobody is likely to want to slip anything in my pint and I drink guinness or ale when out! When I do drink lager it has to be in a pint glass!

Myusername, that's true enough I suppose, didn't think of it like that, it's my age I guess! It just looks so awful, girls swigging from bottles, mind up here it's mostly from Newcastle Brown Ale bottles lol so perhaps alcopops don't look so bad.

Ha ha! There is nowt more attractive than a drunken northern lass with Newky Brown dribbling down her chin! Even more so if they have a doner kebab in the other hand!

 Ah, the essence of elegant living permeating the air :D.
