American Jiu Jitsu

This is... interesting.

If we accept the fact that martial arts are supposed to evolve, this could be viewed as just another evolutionary step. Much in the same way that BJJ evolved from judo.

But I will also say that judo hadn't yet existed long enough to be "established," for BJJ to be viewed as bastardized version of judo. And that was a great thing for BJJ.

"American Jiu Jitsu," unfortunately, doesn't have that going for it.

But I suppose the best thing we can all do is watch and see how this plays out.

So, its okay for the Gracies and the Brazilians to take Judo and rebrand it to emphasize their cultural aspects to it, but it is not okay for Americans to do the same thing when they emphasize different techniques to emphasize their cultural aspects of combat to it?

Stir the pot....walk away and watch.....lol
