Was cleaning up some papers, CD's, DVD's and accumulated crap around here a few hours ago and came across my copy of AoE. I remember playing the game till 3:00am and having to get to work for 7:00am, had a blast with it years ago. Tried it out tonight.....done, and going to bed at....1:08am.

I must have gotten better playing over those years....

LOL

amazing how we an breeze through OLD CONTENT....

^_^

AoE rocks! It's only with the advent of my seduction by LOTRO that I've stopped playing the AoE series :D. Every week for more than a decade, a friend of mine and myself would run two or three multi-player battles over my home LAN .

I am in a solitary mood...
Harvest Moon, and I don't even have time to talk to the Villagers...

I liked it as well... didn't care too much for the changes in AOE-3 however, guess I got too used to the big overview of the battles. Played the Star Wars versions of them too.
There was another similar game called Cossacks and that was pretty cool to play too... can't find it however.

Aye, I agree that AoE III and IV drifted off the path somewhat, they were still good tho'. I have a bunch of the Coassak's games but I could never get into them - as with a game called Stars, I never felt like the decisions I was making were having any impact. I was more of a Space Empires fan :D.
