What do ya'll think of these rules?

XG is a combination of Muay Thai and San Shou. Allowing punches, kicks, low kicks, knees, elbows, throws and takedowns. What makes it different? The competitors wear MMA gloves.

I for one would love to compete under these rules.

XG© RULES

1. STYLE FORMAT
• XG© is a combination of Muay Thai & San Shou Fighting with Special IKF Approved MMA Open Finger Fight Gloves making throws easier.
• There is NO Ground Fighting in XG© Fighting.
• Throws and Takedowns are allowed but the action (Like in San Shou style fighting) will stop immediately following the Throw or Takedown.
• All types of Judo & Wrestling Throws are Legal.
• Continued clinching must have CONTINUED "STRIKING" ACTION and or result in a Throw or Takedown or the referee will break the fighters up after 3 seconds of non striking action.
2. SCORING
• Scoring is a straight 10 point must system. - For Info Click HERE.
• Unlike in San Shou, there will be no throw points awarded.
• Although there is no current Throw or Takedown minimum requirement now, Fighters will be STRONGLY Encouraged to THROW their opponent.
3. STRIKING
• Low Kicks are allowed to the inside and outside of the legs.
• All other "High" kicks are allowed to the body & head.
• Although there is no current HIGH KICK minimum requirement now, Fighters will be STRONGLY Encouraged to KICK ABOVE THE WAIST.
• ALL HAND STRIKES Must be "CLOSED FIST."
• NO Open Hand Strikes or Hammer Fists!
• Knees are allowed to the body but NOT the Head.
• Elbows are allowed to the body but NOT the Head.
4. EQUIPMENT
• No Shirts allowed.
• No Foot pads allowed.
• Fighters supply their own cup and mouthpiece.
• Fighters must wear Thai style OR Grappling shorts. NO Long Pants.
• No Shin pads allowed (This could change for multi fight - Tournament Competition)
• Fighters hands must be wrapped with gauze & tape (Pro Wraps are allowed) or general handwraps.
• For additional Equipment details please go to the IKF Rules & Equipment page by clicking HERE.
5. GLOVES
• As of this time, the ONLY Gloves Approved for XG© Fighting Are the Combat Sports TG4 shown at right in Blue.
• These Gloves have the same shock dispersing capabilities as a 16 Ounce Boxing Glove.
• The issue with these gloves could determine whether or not XG© Fighting will be allowed in various States by the different State Commissions.
6. AMATEUR HEADGEAR
• IKF Headgear Rules will apply for Amateur competition in IKF XG© Sanctioned bouts unless a mandatory requirement by State Athletic/Boxing Commissions. When this style is fought as Pro, of course, no headgear is allowed.

I'd watch this just as I do the WCL....if it's on and I happen upon it while channel surfing. It reads to be a form of modified MMA stand-up.

Sounds good, however, if no points are awarded for takedowns, whats the incentive? Also, why are knee and elbow strikes not allowed to the head?
