perhaps your thinking the Japanese Kanji says uechi ryu journal. It doesn't. The Kanji only says uechi ryu. If you look closely below are numbered bar codes. I would assume they are used as links to a daily article or something for the school
Acrually, this is a picture of a sticker. In watching utube videos I have seen thas worn as an embroirded patch without the bar codes. I will try to find one.
Having a uechi ryu background myself, like I said the Japanese reads "uechi ryu" most logos and school gi patches have the English written above. On occasion the organization name would be below. I have it tattooed on my shoulder. I have never seen the words "journal" associated with it other than the pic you posted. And I know a lot of people in that style. Sorry I couldn't help.
