Veteran, 84, foils Legion robbery

I shudder to think how much money there might have been in that legion hall. The Royal Canadian Legion is tasked with distributing poppies each November for Remembrance Day. Legionnaires, along with young Air Cadets, Sea Cadets, etc, fan out across cities and towns exchanging poppies for donations to aid veterans. With one and two dollar coins in circulation, you can imagine the cash that gets accumulated.

Never occurred to me that someone would have the jam to try to jack up some old Legionnaire who's just trying to help his or her fellows.
