Very Rural

Great pics, although if that's "very rural" I must live in the boonies!

Ooooh, love those shots! Thanks for sharing them Dr. Rush!

Most are from my family's farm in WV (including the tombstones in the woods). The river pic is the Gauley River in WV, and the falls are close by in PA and VA.

I grew up in an area of WV that was pretty rural. There is one stop light in my whole county.. .

Here's one close to my wife's hometown (Blacksburg, VA). it was about a 8 mile hike to get there, but the view and open 150' rock face was totally worth it!

I was going to ask if your photos were from around WVA. My sister fell in love with Appalachia and began college in Elkins, WV. It took me a little while for me to develop the same love she had for the mountains, I didn't start hiking until I was 40. But man...now that its in my blood, it is REALLY in my blood. :)

Really? I went to college in Buckhannon, WV, about 20 minutes away from Elkins. We used to go to Audra State Park a lot during college. It was about half way between Elkins and Buckhannon.

Yeah, I was born in WV, raised on a farm in WV, went to undergrad in WV, went to professional school in Chicago, then moved back to the WV border. The mountains are in my blood. I live in OH, right on the Ohio River, about an hour from my hometown. Close enough to enjoy, but in a bit larger area to earn a living in my field. I do miss living in the middle of nowhere though, it has it's perks. But I don't miss having to drive 20 miles to a tiny grocery store, or 45 miles to a decent one.. .
