A HERO policeman from Harrogate and his karate-trained friend have been on a crime-solving adventure on their summer holidays in Malta.
Brave TC Rick Harper and Darren Gordon, a panel beater at Knaresborough Body Repair, thwarted a jewel thief as he sped past them carrying a bag of loot.

Instinctively the pair took chase, bringing the bungling burglar to the ground in a "painful gooseneck brace".
