It hasn't been the easiest the month for Team Takedown. The Vegas-based fight camp run by Marc Laimon was stunned a bit when team member Jake Roshot (6-2, 1-2 UFC) was dumped by the promotion. He was coming off what you could call a flash submission at the hands of Kendall Grove at UFC 106. He was dominating the fight before he got caught in a triangle choke and was coming off an impressive win at UFC 102 over Chris Leben. Tough luck in this economy with a roster this big. Now it's time for his teammate Johny Hendricks to see if he can put together a two-fight winning streak with the thought of Rosholt's firing fresh in his mind:

"You never know what's going to happen in this sport. That's why you have to go there and leave everything out there. Hopefully you impress and if not, you're gone. Jake did that and tried that. It's just sad."

Laimon said he was surprised saying Rosholt was showing growth and it wasn't like he got blown out. He is confident that Rosholt will be back someday and could be middleweight champ someday.

Hendricks (6-0, 1-0 UFC) needs a win and has a little extra to prove. There's more than enough complaints after his win over Amir Sadollah from people who thought the stoppage was premature. Hendricks faces unknown Ricardo Funch (7-0, 0-0 UFC) in a bout at 170 pounds. Laimon said he worked on his submission defense with light heavyweight Vinny Magalhaes.

Team Takedown is made up of former Oklahoma State wrestler Hendricks, Rosholt and Shane Roller. Hendricks was the NCAA champ at 165 pounds in 2005 and 2006. After a 56-0 start, he was upset in the 2007 NCAA tournament.
