How fascinating an achievement this is. I'm not sure yet what the practical applications of it could be but as with all such experiments, there will be a use for the technique at some point I am certain.

Nanoscale fabrication - such nanoscale operations are already in development for scientific use, for drug manufacturing, materials manufacturing, and so forth. Nanoscale motors are an integral part of that technology.
