Okay, I heard this on the radio this morning, and thought they were kidding... but they weren't.
No softies in Canada's Pillow Fight League

By Cameron French Tue Jan 16, 4:23 PM ET

TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's College Street bar district has seen its share of late-night fights, but a recent scrap was a bit out of the ordinary, as a financial journalist in a '50s housewife get-up tried to wallop the daylights out of a 35-year-old part-time waitress -- using a pillow.

The crowd of nearly 500 did little to interfere, as they had paid to be there.

Welcome to the Pillow Fight League, which has been drawing growing crowds in Toronto since it formed early last year, and is now set to export its campy fun to New York City.

There's also a website, at gopfl.com, but I can't get into it at work; since it's sponsored by beer.com, the 'net nanny at the school district won't let me in to it... but I might look later, out of somewhat morbid curiousity.

That is the craziest thing I have ever seen. I am not suprised though

well...what the hell else did we have to do when there was no hockey? :idunno:

It gets darn cold up here, ya know...gotta keep warm somehow...:D ;) :p

Ok I want to join and have a pillow fight but they do not allow men.

Um did anyone quite get the rules?

are those takedowns to try and steal the pillow?

It looks like she who has better aerobics wins.

To make it truely a fair fight and equilize the arobics aspect of this, I would suggest the use of copious amounts of either oil or pudding. :)

I am almost speachless really.

Great minds think alike eh? I found it on the web a couple days ago and made a post in the rec room.

Crazy stuff, my sister sent me an e-mail saying that this was the kinda stuff that made her proud to be Canadian!

I believe that I can think of a much better way to keep warm than that!  :EG:

I'm guessing there is a "no smothering" rule?

And what is the official uniform of a pillow fighter? I know what I HOPE it is :D
