I am saddened to hear that Dave Brubeck has moved on to the jazz hall in the sky. Take Five is an awesome piece and one that holds a special place in my heart as it marked a healing of the rifts that often form between a father and son.

One night, when I was in my late teens, my dad and I sat in our living room watching a Dave Brubeck on the TV. I was drinking Pernod {thinking I was oh-so-sophisticated } and my dad was quaffing his home-brewed bitter. As the concert played on, both of us loving it, we did something that we had not done properly for a few years, not since I hit full-throttle teenage rebellion at least; we talked ... and talked some more ... and still more.

I'll always remember that night and I will always thank Dave Brubeck for it. I hope they have a piano ready for you, Dave :bows:.

This took me right back to one of my own such moments. Priceless!
