It's always interesting when UFC hits the road to see what the venue is hosting the same weekend as hardcore fight fans hit town. Recent venues have hosted the Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears just before UFC events. Los Angeles is definitely going to trump both of those acts. At the brand new L.A. Live complex across the street from Staples Center, there is a world record attempt going down at 5:30 p.m. PT roughly 90 minutes before UFC 104's pay-per-view portion kicks off. It's the Michael Jackson Thriller dance-off.

Thrill the World is attempting to break the world record of 1,722 dancers jammin to Jackson's famous 1983 hit Thriller:

This year, 3,000 people are expected to dance at the L.A. event alone, which is taking place at L.A. Live. There will also be groups dancing in the South Bay, Ventura and Orange County, says Amanda Ayres, executive organizer of the L.A. division.

Chuck Liddell may want to walk over to L.A. Live to regain his confidence after being booted from Dancing With The Stars:
The theme of the event is all about the dancing. “It’s to let everyone know, whether they think so or not … that everyone can dance,” Ayres says. “It’s also to remember Michael Jackson. The fact that he was a great artist and it was a very special gift that he had. … We want to thank him for that.”
