I have no clue why I just thought of this.. but I did so therefore you all have to think of it too :)

What songs come to mind from your childhood?

I remember 'I've been working on the Railroad , Found a Peanut, This ole Man, Course Ring around the Rosy, London Bridges, Tisket a Tasket

Your turn

All of the Schoolhouse Rock songs...

I could recite the Preamble to the constitution (or rather sing it)

The Lion sleeps tonight

Anything by Elvis (my dad would lip sync along with the king while working in the yard-always same line "when elvis retired they wanted my to take over")

I think Hank Williams was on the raido back then
In my teen years Chubby Checker and the TWIST (got to met him once at a local event), Franki Avalon, Elvis, Then The beatles and the English invasion of states in my late teens
Late teens also Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, ETC.

Sweet City Woman, but I don't recall the artist - I was quite young, but remember hearing it on the radio. Also, Its All Rock 'N' Roll To Me, by Billy Joel.

From childhood??? Oh my. I was a teen when a lot of those artists were around. Even saw Hendrix live - Concert for Peace, New Year's Eve 1969 - Madison Square Garden. Boy, do I feel old.

You saw Hendrix live!? Wow, am I jealous.....I remember trying to get my dad to take me to see the Beatles at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Not a chance in **** that was going to happen, though!

I remember so many songs from different stages of my childhood (I'm in the latter stage at the moment) that there are too many to mention. But since I'm having a slow day and thinking about music, this thread has given an idea for
a new music-topic thread.

oh oh i like this thread :partyon: ...tay um let's see
-hokie pokie
-you are my sunshine
-bringing home my baby bumblebee
-this land is my land
-it's raining it's raining
-hole in my bucket
...awwww kids songs there were a whole bunch more but i think some of them were already named

It's a Small, Small, Small World
A Yellow Daffodil
Rubber Ducky

There's probably more, but I do remember the tunes from the piano playing by my mother, not necessarily the words...

- Ceicei

You are my sunshine.

My mom sang it to me at night to put me to sleep... I did the same for my children.

very badly, I might add ;)

The Unicorn song..."cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born, the loveliest of all was the unicorn."

Rise and Shine... "the Lord said to Noah, there's gonna be a floody, floody"

The goat song..."He loved that goat, indeed he did, he loved that goat, just like a kid."

I could go on and on and on.....:) !
