I don't watch much TV, but I find this show to be very gripping. I watch a lot of the older series and man, they've done some really interesting things. The repeat I was watching today had the two teams jury rigging ordinance (primarily from car parts) to fire at bulls-eye targets (about 500 ft away). The loosing team ended up with a six foot long shot gun that propelled bolts at over 800 miles per hour using a thermite charge, had no accuracy. The winners built a traditional black powder cannon, and managed to hit the target twice out of three times.
