He wasn't half bad last night, "It wasn't horrible" as Simon would say. My Gina is gone; so, I just may root for my hometown hair Master Sanjaya!

American Idol isn't about music. It's tabloid entertainment.

Not sure what "America" sees in him (probably just to make Simon squirm some more), but I'm sorry, he needs to go...

Kelly Clarkson could very well be the last true idol.
I dunno. She was the featured performer at the Daytona 500, and couldn't hit most of the high notes in her hit Since You've Been Gone. Today's music is so over-produced in the studio that it doesn't live up to fans' expectations in concert. I'll take a band that can deliver live over a studio Frankenstein anyday.

I really enjoyed Chris Daughtery's voice last season, once he was voted off I stopped watching. It just disgusted me.

Quite right sir. That's one of those statements for which it is possible to give an absolutely uequivocal support :D.

That is soooo true. You don't find many bands that sound good "live" anymore.

No he wasn't half bad..he was Horrible, as he has been from the start..

Stupid show..have to hear it from the kitchen cause my wife want to burn some brain cells on it...

Basically, Sanjaya Malakar was only "alive" on the show, thanks to a large fanbase in India, along with the folks from votefortheworst.com giving him a helping hand.

He had his moment of fame, but unfortunately, there will be more to come, since he's already a household name.

I saw the tail end of it last night. I couldn't believe that he was in the bottom 3 and was even more surprised to see that he was voted off. I wasn't disappointed at all. I would have been if Lakisha got the boot.

Except mine...

Hey! I said MANY. :p

Then again...I haven't heard yours... :p :p :p

Seriously, I watch the Today Show, and they have the live concert series in the summer. I can't believe how crappy some of the big names sound live.

I know that it's a bit of a diversion but I wonder which 'big names' you mean JT?

The reason I ask is that if they were 'modern' bands then that would stack up with what we've been saying i.e. that the days we recall when performers had to be able to actually perform seem to have slipped away from us :(.

Vaudville is over too.:) Anyhow, I think there is a lot of over-production in the studio. Its sells, its sounds modern, its essential for success in todays market; however, it is hard to reproduce night after night on a tour. I don't think anyone is less talented, on the whole. Its just that the challanges they face are not the same as the musicians of the past.
