Anyone going to the Rothbury Music Festival?

http://www.rothburyfestival.com/

Artists: http://www.rothburyfestival.com/festival/artists.php

It's not on the artist lineup, but my son will be playing at Rothbury too! He's in the local high school jazz band and they have a morning gig on July 4th. He gets a free day pass and will get to see one of his favorites, Primus. He is pretty geeked about the whole thing.

I didn't want to spend the duckies to get in (I'm still on the Dave Ramsey plan and working on fully funding my emergency fund), so I signed up for their work exchange program to work off my ticket. I've never worked anything like this before, so I'm kind of excited. Any fellow MTers ever work a big music festival like this? Any tips or suggestions?

No one?

The Village of Rothbury has a population of 407 according to this site http://www.infomi.com/city/rothbury/gov.html.

The Rothbury Music Festival (which will be held to the Northwest of the city limits) has been approved for 50,000 people and the last article I read on the music festival they were expecting about 33,000 people.

As far as working the festival, I was hoping to get some of my hours in during pre fest times and miss less music, but I signed up to work kind of late and those slots were already taken. . .DANG! Oh well.

A friend of mine that is in to music festivals says this artist line-up is similar to the early Bonnaroos (pre-Metallica and Pearl Jam). Hope it goes well.

I had an awesome time at ROTHBURY! I wish my digital camera hadn't went kaput. Here are some sites with sights and sounds.

I ended up on the Access Team as my job. The Access Team helped customers with disabilities understand what they could do to make their ROTHBURY experience the best it could be. We offered ASL for some shows. We had charging stations for mobility scooters and issued special wristbands that provided customers with significant mobililty disabilities access to special venue platforms. I met some cool people from around the country and it was a great experience. If there is a ROTHBURY 2009, I'll volunteer to work again.

Groups I saw were Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, 311, Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon, Trey Anastasio, Primus, Gov't Mule, Rodrigo Y Gabriella, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, Railroad Earth, Sam Beam of Iron and Wine, Mickey Hart Band, Taj Mahal, Zappa Plays Zappa, Steel Pulse, The Wailers, Greensky Bluegrass and maybe a couple more.
