Forum Proposal: Military and Martial Sciences

Purpose: To explore the concepts, ideas and theories behind martial and military arts. Also covered would be tactics, weapons, history and analysis.

Some example topics might include:
- Mogodishu - post battle tactics and equipment analysis and alternatives
- Sun Su's "Art of War" applied today
- The evolution of unarmed combat from caveman to DeltaForce.

Some definitions:
Military science Definition
Noun 1. military science - the discipline dealing with the principles of warfare
tactics - the branch of military science dealing with detailed maneuvers to achieve objectives set by strategy
strategy - the branch of military science dealing with military command and the planning and conduct of a war

Martial Science Definition

The concepts behind the techniques. Why things work.


This is a preliminary request for discussion to determine interest, and establish definitions before going to the election system. Please comment on the idea(s) pro or con.
