Growing up in Seattle, I loved watching a show called Almost Live! on King5. It was a sketch comedy show... low budget but very funny. I heard a few weeks back that a few of the guys are going to be starting up a new show called The 206, and I'm really excited.
Did anyone else enjoy anything like this where you grew up?
Below are some of the skits that I remember best (and could find on YouTube ). Watching them, they still make me laugh out loud.
There was a series of sketches based around cheesy Kung Fu movies called, Mind Your Manners, with Billy Quan. Billy Quan actually started as a camera man for the show and then got in front of the camera. There are several, but this one is classic:
What the show was great for was doing comedy that played on the personalities of the city. So, the Lynnwood Beauty Academy:
And the Cops series, playing up different neighborhoods:
One of Bill Nye's most beloved roles as the superhero Speedwalker:
And one more. The Incredibly Condescending Show:
Hope you guys like these as much as I do.
