A Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to Detroit had to be escorted by F-16 fighter jets on Sunday after crew members said they noticed and reported "suspicious behavior" by multiple passengers.

and again...

In a separate incident aboard an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York, a pilot became nervous when he noticed that several passengers were making frequent trips to the bathroom.

So when a couple of passengers have IBS, or had a bad burrito before boarding, it's cause to scramble the F-16s? Really?

I know it was the Sept 11 anniversary, but this is a new and scary level of paranoia in my humble opinion.

I thought the same thing when I read the news. And it wasn`t just a matter of the F-16s being sent to escort them to the airport....a SWAT team boarded the plane and lead 3 people off in handcuffs for questioning. What had they done that was so suspicious? They were in the bathroom too long. **** me running the terrorists won a long long time ago.

I dont really see the issue.
Terrorist Attacks are a Real Threat.
Is Ignoring them, and making an Attack Easy, just so you dont appear to be being "Terrorised", such a bad thing?
Maybe we should Conscript everyone, and go be Brave and Courageous instead.
If theyre all Dead, they cant Scare us.
Until then, I dont see the Threat any time soon.
And Ignoring it couldnt possibly be Beneficial.

I broadly agree with the above. Although terrorism has curtailed some freedoms and leads to silly stories like those above, it is still better to have some false positives than not responding when it is for real. I do agree that the cases mentioned are quite stupid though, perhaps more on the parts of the people "noticing" these things than the actual government response though.
