A hyper little family dog gets away from her home and runs out on the ice of a large pond in the center of town. She falls in once the ice gets to thin...to the horror of an expectant mother and her 3 year old boy.
Chief Briggs was the first on the scene, and was too concerned about her welfare to wait for the fire department. He foraged waist-deep in to the water, plowing through the ice. He rescued the dog, wrapped her in a blanket, and got her to a vet.
Dog, family, and Chief, are all doing just fine.
