Patangi Karit (White Butterfly)
Some time ago my art San Quan Dao was heavily influenced by this style of Silat. We use many of the techniques and some theories we attribute to it's contribution but know very little about it's origin or even where it was learned by our founding grandmaster 2 generations ago (he is deceased and the current grandmaster does not know the history/origin very well).
San Quan Dao is very "street" with a "take what is useful" approach that was common in the 70's in more than just in JKD. "Discard the rest" was taken literally unfortunately....
Much of the more esoteric stuff was simply not transmitted as it was considered unimportant...
Again the name is Patangi Karit (White Butterfly). I found it is a component or style of Silat on the indochinese board here..
Can anyone tell me more about the art like origin, forms, methodology, etc...
Your help is truly appreciated....
Thanks
