There recently was the death of a 98-year-old lady named Irena Sendler. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive… She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she also carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids). She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises. During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs and arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family. Most, of course, had been gassed. Those kids she helped were placed into foster family homes or adopted. Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize….
She LOST. Al Gore won for doing a slide show on Global Warming.

I read about her. I think her heroism is all the more remarkable in that she never bragged about it. She just didn't think it was that big a deal.

Also, she didn't crack under the Nazi interrogation and torture. I read another story about her where she said she was caught because one of her colleagues did, and she forgave her.

The fact that he is black should have little bearing on his receiving the Nobel Peace prize. I know the government would like to make every issue where people disagree with his policies into a race issue...and that some people buy this propaganda...on both sides!

On the left, "Poor Obama, all of these racists think that what he suggests is bad."

On the right, "Obama can only get away with all of this because he's black."

How about we talk about the fact that they guy who earned the PEACE prize presides over a country engage in two wars that have killed over a million, that he has expanded both wars by shipping in more mercenaries and real soldiers, how about we talk about a guy who would clearly spend more on killing brown babies overseas then saving any babies over here.

As far as Al Gore is concerned, how about we talk about his carbon credit trading bank that is slowly morphing into becoming a new global currency. How about we chat about the millions of children that lie in shallow graves because the global warming hysteria made food to expensive for their families to afford/grow? How about we talk about the Copenhagan Treaty that will slash the developing countries ability to use energy and cause upwards of a billion deaths in ten years?

Apparently the guys in Stockholm award the Peace Prize to those who can kill as many people as they possibly can. John Stewart made that exact joke recently. Oh, that's a joke now, it's trendy and hip to laugh at mass murderers and make fun of them in the press. Lets draw funny pictures of starving kids and bombed out families and laugh at what hypocrites these guys really are...

Or we can take a good hard look at what the hell we really believe in and hold these people accountable.

Peace Prize my ***. My colleague is teaching a unit on 1984 and when I pointed this out to her, she almost started crying. She had never even thought for a moment that this book would have modern analogues. The poor woman completely missed the point.

Did you miss the part where she lost to AL GORE, and not Obama, or did your personal agenda get it the way?

And given the fact that most of the world is NOT white, it would make sense that most of the recipients of an INTERNATIONAL award would not be white, but let's see the last few:
