Hello all
I am looking for a new school to train at.
I am willing to go 25 miles out side of ypsi/ann arbor area.
Can anybody tell me some good schools to check out.
thanks

Those I know personally Are further away.

I've heard there are a lot of similarities between Booj stuff and hwarang stuff.

Brian, have you had the opportunity to see what the former hwarang student can do? Are there, in your opinion, similarities in technique approach?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Shesulsa,

There are similarities in many of the joint locks and throws. Lot's of differances as well. Budo Taijutsu movement is slightly different then Hwa Rang Do movement but both are excellent in their joint locks and throwing techniques. My friend who used to train in Hwa Rang Do is very happy training at the Dexter Bujinkan Dojo and is currently in the air on his second trip to Japan right now. :)

That's fascinating! Don Roley and I didn't get to trade moves at all when he came to the states, but I sure would like to experiment a tad.

Thanks for the analysis!! :ultracool

LOL! We've been through that stereotype before, here is one of the threads where that was discussed:

I hope you find what you are looking for, whatever MA it turns out to be.

Also, if you find yourself on the West Coast (of Michigan) let me know. My teacher is very open to visitors, but please keep in mind it is just TKD. :ultracool

I am sorry you think I think all tkd sucks.
It is like with any martial arts, it all depeneds on the teacher. Not the style. You can have a great art but once it gets in to the world of point fighting. It is not a martial art it is a martial sport. So your teacher my teach it old school and that would be cool to train in. But if it is the stuff that is like the w.t.f. stuff then. I thank you for your time.
