Several years ago I attended a private deminar by a Professor Art in Oakland. I do know his last name but not sure how to spell it. In that deminar he showed us a very unique defensive weapon I have been unable to locate nor do I know the name. So by explaining what it looked like hopefully someone will be able to guide me to a good source.
It was metal contruction with a ring/hole that you put your index finger in. the main portion of the handle went int he palm of the hand and the blade was small and extremely sharp. It was shaped such that when you do a hammer strike you are actually cutting with the blade.
I've come across the following link but this isn't quite it.

Any comments/hints/suggesstions greatly appreciated.
