Very nice but why dd he wipe his blade after each of the cuts in the begining?

Cutting the mats gets smudge and gunk on the blade. So before returning the blade into it's saya or scabbard, the blade is wiped each time before noto or sheathing. Wiping that way with a towel doesn't necessarily get all of it off the blade, but it gets some off because we want to put as least gunk to no gunk back into the scabbard. After completing a session of cutting and using the sword, the blade goes through a more thorough cleaning job.
