For those who wonder why cops put up with the stuff we do... This is why:
I was pulling a little bit of OT this morning, handling road closures for a 5K run. As the run is breaking up, I'm sitting in a cruiser, getting ready to leave and waiting for some folks to realize that they actually are allowed to use the sidewalks now.
A family walks by, and a little boy, maybe 4 years old or so, looks up at me, and asks me "Why are you in a police car?"
I told him "Because I'm a police officer."
"Oh... I'll be a police officer," he says.
"Yeah, maybe one day you will," I reply.
"Maybe Wednesday" is his answer.
