An Iraq War veteran has filed a potential class-action lawsuit against CitiGroup's CitiMortgage division, alleging that the lender violated the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act by foreclosing on his home and that of "thousands" of other active-duty soldiers.

While [the plaintiff] was on lock down training at Fort Hood, CitiMortgage initiated foreclosure proceedings against his property and sold it at a foreclosure sale on May 2, 2006. The foreclosure sale was not conducted pursuant to a court order and was not approved by a court. That same day, CitiMortgage's lawyers filed an affidavit in the real property records of Travis County, Texas, stating that [the plaintiff] was 'not on active duty with any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States or w[as] not protected by the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.' Those statements were false.

So while the government pays him to kill, the banks that government gave hundreds of billions of dollars to steal his property and sell it at a profit. And even if he wins, he'll still be out his home and his time and the interest on his assets, and all the opportunity cost associated with both losing those things and having to fight to get them back.

I wonder if the banks were hoping the government would send him somewhere to die before he got around to complaining.

Probably. I'm becoming convinced that the reason things are so screwed up is that Jefferson was right and Hamilton wrong when it comes to banking.

But Hamilton didn't live long enough to see the errors of his way...

If only Burr had fired sooner....like 10 or 15 years sooner.....
But I said the same thing about Booth too. :D
