Kempo karate

Hi

i received a leaflet through the door today about a new kempo karate class in the area, since i have never heard of kempo karate does anyone know what it is.

i have heard of these arts seperately but nether heard of them together.

has the instructors just merged the two systems together (kempo and karate) or is there an actual system for this.

i do not know if this is the case with you but shaolin kempo as designated by F.Villari is often called shaolin kempo karate. also kempo is not a name well recognized by the general public so for advertising purposes karate is usually added and sometimes kung fu even.

Typically, saying Kempo or Kempo Karate means the same thing.

"Kempo Karate" is a term used in marketing by many of the hawaiian kempo branches... for exactly the reason stated above - everyone knows what "karate" is.
