Every time a soldier is killed out there it diminishes us but this one just seems so poignant. He died on his 24th Birthday with his twin brother as his bedside. Am I the only one who is put in mind of the awful and useless slaughter of the First World War where the soldiers "were lions led by donkeys?"
The other tragedy of this is that while it was on the national news once it's so soon forgotten by the public, another soldier was killed in Afghanistan two days later but didn't even make the news.
