Hello All.

I'd like to introduce myself here as there is a good chance I'll become an active poster.

I am a student of Freestyle Karate by Jim Klauba.

It's actually a Kickboxing class but Judo is also offered.

I'm am a High Red Belt and our belt ranking system goes as follows.

White
Orange
Orange Striped
Yellow
Yellow Striped
Green
Blue
Purple
Brown
Red
High Red
Black

I've been traing a little over 4 years. I do it for self-defense and for full contact.

We from time to time have small local tournaments but we mainly train for the IKF (International Kickboxing Federation) Regionals and Nationals.

I was able to become the 2 time Regional Champion but the Nationals didn't go so well.

Current I am training by butt off before April Regionals.

Be sure to read past posts that will most likely answer any and many of your questions. It'll take a while to sift through them all but it'll cut down on redundancy. Chances are if you got a question it just might have been covered. But ya never know.

Hopefully I'll answer more questions then I'll ask. I studied/read about varies arts before so I'm pretty familiar with a decent amount.

The only thing that pisses me off at the moment are those phony "Become a Black Belt in 6 weeks" kind of classes.

Quick question for you, do you know if many members here compete?
