Greenwich police officer battling ALS rallies community to support bike trek
Each summer people from around the country come together for the Tri-State Trek. A three-day bicycle ride from Boston to New York, the Trek is a fundraiser to end amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The 270 mile ride is inspiring, challenging and life-changing. It is an event like few others in the world.
After being diagnosed with Lou Gehrigs disease in 2007, police Sgt. Roger Petrone is now rallying community members to participate in an annual bicycle trek that raises money to find a cure for the neuromuscular disorder.
