Can someone please explain this to me?

The new head of the Transportation Security Administration is looking at some changes in airport security. Under a proposal, scissors, small knives, and razor blades would be allowed on airplanes. Other banned items such as ice picks, throwing stars and bows and arrows would no longer be prohibited.
Is there a USAAA (United States Aerial Archers' Association) that's lobbying for this?

Hello, Thank-you for sharing the news article.....could it be about? ----MONEY and not safety anymore?

1. government do not have enough money for more TSA's

2. Airlines/ passenagers complaining of the delays at check-points

3. since pens, pencil and so many other things that could use for make shift weapons?

4. could we have too many people and need to reduce the populatons?

5. Is gas getting cheaper --has nothing to do with the above.....Aloha

I was waiting for them to ban martial artists and pro/amateur fighters.

6 months in a boxing class has got to make you more of a threat then a pair of nail clippers...

Just don't tell that to a politician or MartialTalk will be forced to turn over its membership lists and we'll all be on no fly lists...

Throwing stars and bows and arrows?

HAHA! The Airlines belong to the Ninja's now!

Last time I traveled, a bag of wooden tanto's, nunchaku and an air pistol was NOT allowed. Trust me on this ;)

That's exactly what I was thinking!

How about shuko claws? Never know when I might need to climb the wall of the aircraft of block one of those throwing stars!

Gotta agree with you there.

No kidding. The police are already "registering" martial arts schools for the Dept of Homeland Security.

Sharp Objects May Be Allowed on Planes

Airport security screeners are reportedly going to let passengers bring sharp objects on board airplanes again. Today's Washington Post says the Transportation Security Administration plans to announce security changes Friday.

The Post reports the newly relaxed rules would allow scissors under four inches long tools shorter than seven inches.

I'm curious who's going to be doing the measuring.

My guess would be a female. After all, as Roseanne Barr/Arnold has said, we're the ones who decided "1 inch = 10 miles" :)

This is good. Last time I flew, I got the look of death while checking my luggage. The clerk asked, "What's in the case?". I said "swords, sticks, knives and other weapons". They weren't too enthused. Oh well! :samurai:

LOL! If you register your hands as deadly weapons, they'll deny you boarding!
Wonder what'd happen if you quote this line?? :D
